Biography
For the last thirty years, I have been working with clients who are struggling with marriage, separation and divorce. I have helped parents through custody mediation, have worked with children and teens whose parents are in the midst of separating, and I have provided services as a Collaborative Coach and/or Child Specialist since 2007. I have worked on hundreds of Collaborative cases at this point with the vast majority coming to successful resolution.

One of the things that is most important to me as a divorce professional is to provide ongoing and consistent support to all of my clients. To me, support means both providing guidance through a very confusing time, offering input about emotional challenges for clients and their children, and offering myself as a sounding board for clients who often need to talk through ideas, options, and challenging decisions.

I am dedicated to helping fathers and mothers in their efforts to remain fully engaged parents and in their efforts to learn how to parent effectively even though they are getting divorced. I believe parents CAN protect children from many negative impacts of divorce if they are informed, reassured, and strengthened.

Beginning in 2011, I began providing trainings and workshops to attorneys, mental health professionals and financial experts in the skills of Collaborative divorce and mediation. I have offered trainings throughout the USA and Canada.

Finally, I have co-authored two books with Kate Scharff:
Navigating Emotional Currents in Collaborative Divorce; A Guide to Enlightened Team Practice (published 2010 by ABA) and Mastering Crucial Moments in Separation and Divorce; A Multidisciplinary Guide to Excellence in Practice and Outcome (published 2016 by ABA).

I welcome having brief conversations with potential clients at no charge to see if we are a good fit.
